Stoke City Academy Development

From the likes of Sir Stanley Matthews, Freddie Steele, and Neil Franklin, the local back four of the 1970s, through to players such as Andy Wilkinson, Ryan Shotton, and Tom Edwards, the Potters have always been keen to nurture local talent.

The city has entered youth teams in competitive games for many years, including the inaugural FA Youth Cup tournament in 1952. After two semi-final appearances in 1955 and 1961, the club reached the final in 1984, whilst also going on to lift the Midland Melville Cup in 1996.

Required Qualifications for Joining the Stoke City Academy Trials 2022-2023

  1. Only children that are up to 8 years old, can join the Stoke City football academy. That is to say, those that are not up to 8 years old should not apply.
  2. The Youth Academy is only made for candidates that have good grades and can also provide recommendations from their schools.
  3. The management of the Academy would also like you to present details of yourself. Which will include your previous club.
  4. Candidates that are below 18 years of age must have the consent of their parents to join the Academy.
